A Journey Through Cultures, Challenges, and Compassion
As a 7-year-old Kurdish child in Iraq, a country torn by war and conflict, Dr. Helen Sairany was spotted by a U.S. Marine deployed to her country with a grenade in her hand, who saved her life by exchanging the grenade for a bag of candy. Because of her turbulent childhood, Dr. Sairany was diagnosed with complex PTSD in 2013. Thus, she aspires to live in a world where the vast majority are trauma-informed, feel psychologically safe and valued for they work they put out, and return home fulfilled.
Dr. Helen Sairany is an award-winning keynote speaker who inspires the audience with stories of resilience, post-traumatic wisdom, empowerment, and global exploration. Dr. Sairany’s keynotes offer insights from a life shaped by diverse cultures, trauma, and positive change leaving the audience motivated and uplifted.
Dr. Helen Sairany is a proud author of three books: The We You Don’t See: Understanding the Long Shadows of Trauma, Trading Grenades for Candy: A Kurdish Refugee’s American Journey and Childhood Hang-On: Overcoming the Trauma Wounds that Limit Success (coming soon).
Dr. Helen Sairany is a corporate wellness workshop facilitator and speaker on the topics of positive intelligence, trauma-informed workplace, burnout, wellbeing, staff development, executive presence, self-leadership, DEIB, and self-care.
Trauma-informed coaching is about understanding the presence of trauma in a coach-client relationship and how to use it as a guide for resilience and solution-forward solutions.
